The outbreak spread silently for days before the dead rose, so no city was ever quarantined in time. Island nations that sealed their borders survived, but England kept its ports open and fell with the mainland.

UCLA Athletic Housing
A block of student athlete apartments near the UCLA campus. The power is out, the halls smell of old food, and the courtyard has been turned into a makeshift barricade of mattresses and bikes.
- Westwood Market RowA strip of shops and a grocery store on Westwood Boulevard. Shelves are stripped, but the back rooms and loading dock still hide canned goods and water for anyone willing to search.
Ellis Kane - VA Hospital RuinsA sprawling hospital complex west of campus. The wards are dark and the dead wander the corridors, but the pharmacy and supply rooms hold medicine, bandages, and fuel that crews fight over.
Dr. Priya Raman - Santa Monica PierA long wooden pier over the ocean. The rides are dead and the boardwalk is picked clean, but the pier is easy to defend and the fishing is still good for anyone with a line.
Ty Brooks - Venice Canal CampA walled survivor camp built along the canals. Traders, scavengers, and families live behind boat hulls and chain link, and the camp runs on barter and rumor.
Rosa Delgado and Bo Tran - Downtown CoreThe towers of downtown, hollowed out and dangerous. Gangs hold the upper floors and the streets below are a maze of wrecks, wire, and the dead.
Marcus Webb - LA River BedA concrete flood channel cutting through the city. It is the fastest route across town if you can move quietly, and the dead collect in the shallow water under the bridges.
Marisol Vega - LAX PerimeterThe airport fence line, breached and overrun. Cargo containers and a stalled fuel truck sit near the runway, and the terminal holds supplies no one has cleared yet.
Sergeant Dale Hollis - Hollywood Hills OverlookA ridge road above the city with a clear view for miles. A radio relay station sits on the hill, and the signal from it still repeats the same emergency loop.
Nia Okafor - CDC Field DepotA fenced federal supply depot outside the city. The gate is chained, the lot is quiet, and the sealed containers inside are marked with biohazard tape no one has opened.
Wendell Price - Dooms Day bunkersbunkers scared trough out the USA people who for saw the end well stocked with supplies food and weapons
