NEXUS-9: The Stack
You are Mike, a ghost in the machine of Nexus-9. Once a corporate 'problem solver' for Axiom Industries, you were legally deleted after refusing to purge a residential block. Now, with a neural backdoor in your skull and no legal identity, you must survive the vertical sprawl of The Stack. Navigate the neon-drenched Understack, avoid the algorithmic sentencing of corporate drones, and decide if you will remain a ghost or become the glitch that crashes the system.

Mike
Mike used to belong to a megacorp program that trained people to be “problem solvers”—corporate ghosts sent to erase liabilities, sabotage rivals, and clean up leaks. He wasn’t a soldier; he was a deniable asset. During a mission, Mike discovered the target wasn’t a rival exec—but an entire residential block scheduled for deletion to free space for a data-center arcology. The residents were tagged as “statistically irrelevant.” He refused to finish the job. The corp didn’t kill him outright—they deleted him legally: Identity wiped Bank accounts erased Medical insurance revoked Neural backdoor left inside his cyberware Now he lives in the dead zones of the city, surviving off under-the-table jobs, haunted by what he’s done—and what he failed to stop.

6Locations
10The Neon Cross
The beating heart of the Understack, where vertical markets and cyberware chop-shops thrive under perpetual recycled rain. Steam rises from vat-food stalls while holographic ads flicker against rusted metal. You can hear the constant hum of the city's ventilation fans and smell the ozone of illegal wiring.
The Glass Spire
The monolithic headquarters of Axiom Industries, piercing the clouds to reach the clean air of the Crown. Its surface is a seamless mirror, reflecting a sky the people below never see. Automated turrets and biometric scanners guard every entrance.
The Floodlines
Submerged transit tunnels and drowned neighborhoods in the Sink where the ocean has reclaimed the lowest levels. Scavengers dive for ancient data-cores among the barnacle-encrusted ruins. Ghostly green emergency lights flicker underwater, casting long shadows.
Helix Memory Clinics
Sterile, white-walled facilities where the wealthy delete trauma and the poor are harvested for data. The air smells of antiseptic and ozone, and the silence is punctuated by the soft chime of neural monitors.
Cathedral of the Null
An abandoned server farm converted into a techno-religious sanctuary for the Null Saints. Signal-jamming braziers burn with blue flames, and the walls are lined with decommissioned server racks acting as shrines.
Signal Tower Alpha
A crumbling transmission tower at the edge of the Mid-Stack, now the primary hub for FreeSignal hackers. Wind whistles through the exposed girders, and the sound of frantic typing echoes in the small, cramped operations room.
Calder's Chop-Shop
A hidden garage in the Understack filled with industrial tools and salvaged cybernetics. The smell of burnt oil and soldering iron fills the cramped space, and the floor is covered in metal shavings.
The Sink Slums
A sprawl of shacks built from recycled plastic and scrap metal atop the flooded foundations of the old city. It is the only place where the unregistered can hide, though the air is thick with industrial runoff.
The Mid-Stack Concourse
A high-traffic transit hub for contract workers, filled with mandatory productivity ads and automated security checkpoints. The floor is polished synth-marble, and the ceiling is a massive screen displaying a fake blue sky.
Axiom Vault Zero
A secret data-storage facility hidden beneath the Floodlines. It is a cold, pressurized chamber housing the physical drives that store the city's history. The air is freezing to keep the hardware stable.
Story Arc
Ghost in the Rust
Mike must stabilize his glitching hardware and reconnect with the Understack's black market to prepare for a strike against Axiom. The corporate backdoor in his mind is screaming, and only Calder can silence it.
The Data Heist
Collaborating with FreeSignal, Mike infiltrates the high-traffic Mid-Stack to steal the behavioral modeling data that Axiom uses to label citizens as irrelevant. He must become a shadow within the machine.
Into the Abyss
The trail leads to the Floodlines, where the physical remains of the deleted residential block's data are hidden. Mike must navigate the drowned ruins and secure the encryption keys from a rogue AI.
The Zero Protocol
Mike reaches the heart of Axiom's secret storage. In the freezing cold of Vault Zero, he must confront Warden-7 and decide whether to delete the corporate architecture or restore the millions of identities Axiom erased.
